Watch our video guide to Week 18 of your pregnancy journey:
What's Happening in Week 18?
Your baby is now about the size of a bell pepper! The ears are now in their final position and the baby can hear sounds from outside the womb. If you're having a girl, the uterus and fallopian tubes are formed and in place.
Your baby is yawning, hiccupping, and practicing facial expressions. The nervous system is maturing rapidly, and myelin (a protective coating) is beginning to form around the nerves.
Tips for Week 18
- Your anomaly scan (20-week scan) is coming up soon
- You should be feeling regular movements now
- Play music for your baby - they can hear it!
- Keep up with your prenatal appointments
