Watch our video guide to Week 26 of your pregnancy journey:

What's Happening in Week 26?

Your baby is now about the size of a head of lettuce! The big news this week - your baby's eyes are opening for the first time. They can see light filtering through the womb. The eyelashes are fully formed.

Brain wave activity for hearing and sight is developing, meaning your baby can respond to both sounds and light. The immune system is also absorbing your antibodies.

Tips for Week 26

  • Your baby may respond to bright lights
  • You might notice your baby has active and quiet periods
  • Stay well hydrated as your blood volume increases
  • Only a few more weeks until the third trimester!
