What's Happening in Week 14?
Your baby is now about the size of a lemon! The facial muscles are developing, allowing your baby to squint, frown, and grimace. Lanugo, a fine downy hair, is starting to cover the body to help regulate temperature.
The baby's liver is producing bile, and the spleen is helping to produce red blood cells. Your baby is also practicing breathing movements.
Tips for Week 14
- Your bump is likely becoming more noticeable
- You may feel more energetic than in the first trimester
- Consider maternity clothes if regular clothes feel tight
- Start thinking about your birth preferences
